ISO 14001

ISO 14001 is the internationally recognised standard for the environmental management of businesses. It prescribes controls for those activities that have an effect on the environment. These include the handling and treatment of waste, the use of natural resources and energy consumption. All ISO accredited companies are audited at least once a year to ensure compliance.

The standard specifies requirements for establishing an environmental policy, determining environmental aspects (such as lease cars) and impacts (in the case of the lease car one impact would be C02 emissions & exhaust fumes), planning environmental objectives and measurable targets, implementation and operation of programs to meet objectives and targets, checking and corrective action, and management review.
